I don’t know why I’m reminiscing like this tonight… Here’s another of my favorites from April 2013. My wife and I had fun re-reading this tonight. Hopefully you will as well.

Harvey Millican: Raising Your Kids Without Lowering Your IQ

Tonight, as we were thinking about packing our belongings — we’re getting ready to move — my wife came across a box of old papers from her time in high school that her mom had saved for her.  Needless to say that our plans for packing went right out the window as we sat on the guest room bed and pored over the time capsule in front of us.  The first thing we encountered was a “creative writing” assignment.  Circa 9th grade, the future Mrs. Harvey had been given a topic.  We just aren’t exactly sure what that topic was.  I can only guess it had something to do with morbid thoughts and dementia.  She titled the story “The Mill”.  It was about a woman named Mrs. Miller.  Keep in mind that at no point in this page-long diatribe does she mention a mill.  No, she opens on Mrs. M…
