To I even need to introduce these block quotes anymore?
Ian update: he’s up to 5 lbs 6.6 oz, and took his whole 9 PM feeding (still 45 cc) in under 9 minutes! The nurse says that, based on that, he’ll likely have his bottle/breastfeeding increased from once per shift to every third feeding. After that, if he does as well as he’s done so far, he’ll be increased to every other feeding, and then to every feeding.
At the same time, they’re trying to move him out of the isolette and into a regular infant bed; they’re going to be stepping him down from that in much the same manner – reducing the overall temperature in the isolette until it hits room level (it’s around 85 degrees right now) and moving him out once he’s adjusted to normal room temperature.
Please keep praying for him – he’s so very close to coming home, and he’s doing so well!
You’ll be home in time for Pentecost, buddy!

Praying!
Praying for Ian, the doctors and nurses caring for him, and his family! I cannot wait to meet you, little man!
